Idea for kid involvement (to discuss Sunday)

Diane had a great idea for getting the kids more involved in our gatherings. I thought I’d post it here for your consideration, and maybe we can talk about it more together Sunday.

Each month every child is assigned to an adult (or two – depending on how many adults would like to participate). The adult/s would be responsible for that child during our time on Sunday – sit with them and sort of coach/mentor them, encourage them to participate in different ways. But they would also take some time to get to know the child more throughout the entire month – call or write them, come by to visit with them, whatever is feasible and realistic during the week.

Of course at the end of the month, they’d rotate to a different adult.

Hopefully this would help our kids feel more a part of the family and more comfortable around everyone in time.

What Makes a Sibling?

We recently had a discussion that got into the area of defining who is our brother and sister. Is this something we are responsible for trying to define? If so, what is our criteria? Is there a single list of criteria that everyone must use? Feel free to comment here with your thoughts, scriptures to support, etc.

Kay sent me another link to an article! I’m including it below, but wanted to mention something first…if you’d like to be able to publish your own posts here, I can send you an invite for “author” status. This way you don’t have to send things to me first. BUT if you’d rather just send things to me and not mess with it, that’s fine too. 🙂

Also – if there’s anyone you would like to share this blog with, just send me their email and I’ll send them an invite to view. You can email me at korbme@gmail.com.

Without further ado, here’s the link to the article. Feel free to leave comments!

Welcome

Hey y’all! Today we decided to start a blog to help improve communication. We thought it would be helpful to post where and when we’ll be meeting each week…we could also include topics of discussion or things we’d like to focus on for the upcoming meeting. This way we will all have a chance to check in here beforehand and prepare a little better. This is by no means a requirement (obviously!), but might help us be more unified and in touch throughout the week.

Today, Kim and Colby have decided to offer their house up every week. Thanks, Kimberly and Colby!! If anyone else wishes to host a Sunday just let it be known, but for now we’ll plan to meet in Cedar Park at 3 every Sunday.

Please feel free to add comments/questions/topics of discussion to this page. If you want me to post an article/song/poem/prayer request/anything….send it my way and I’ll be happy to post it here for everyone to read and chime in on/offer encouragements via the comments.

If you follow this blog via email, each time there’s an update you’ll get a notification in your inbox. In order to do this, click on the three horizontal lines you see in the upper right section of the screen, and then click “follow” – it should ask you for your email address. If you’re planning on meeting with us regularly, you’ll definitely want to follow via email as this is where updates will be posted about place/time.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Marci
